Just me now, and I'm a self proclaimed worrier....just the fact that it was

made known right up front and out in the open that this person is a " Lawyer "

would run the red flag up the flagpole for me! It makes no difference what each

of us does for a living......we are ....hopefully here to lengthen and make the

quality of our lives better. My gut feeling is....I'm not sending in this case.

You could be walking into something you don't want or need!

I have been sending out KT thru the mail for several years now but

recently I received a request to send KT directly to a lawyer's

office. This seemed unusual, as the person also has a home address

independent of the lawyer's office. Would I be at a liability of a

lawsuit or some creative, aggressive attorney if I directly send KT to

the address of the law office?

,

How did this person find you to request a scoby?

Some people are leery about giving out their home address. My personal

perspective is, I would not worry.

Lawyers are people too.

If you are not selling anything or making any claims, what could the problem be?

I going to send it out, based on the fact that the person requesting

KT was a " lowly paralegal " . I realize sometimes that people do ask

you to send packages they order to pick up at their workplace, it may

be more secure, ect.

I don't see any legal issue outside of the same category as sending

homemade vinegar or mushroom spawn (inoculum) thru the mail, as long

as caveat emptor applies. Actually real mushroom spawn would seem to

be at a higher risk, as it can thrive with a lot of other poisonous

fungi, more so than KT.

If I get negative feedback or warning flags, I'll definitely pass it

on for the newsgroup to consider. It would be a bad trend for the

small business, to say the least, so that's why I'm not gonna worry

about this one request..

BTW I'm on Guenther's network, that the German site with the great KT

info on it. I get requests sporadically, it's somewhat interesting

meeting the people who are always sincere and friendly. Guenther's a

great resource if you want to help others in your neck of the woods.

My mailing costs thru UPS have put me in the $15 dollar shipping

category, also I definitely avoid USPS as much as possible, UPS knows

about KT and they don't freak out when they put it in the truck for

the quick 3 day shipment times. Also my local UPS Store manager is

Chinese/Asian-American, which probably smooths the delivery even more.

I guess I still have a stupid question....why did this person even bother to

tell you they were in the law profession in the first place? What does that

have to do with wanting to brew KT? That in itself would make me wonder. Best

of luck!

The return address is a rather large and respectable law office here

in Florida (Tampa branch office), so it was a no-brainer to figure

out where the KT was going to be sent.

The person may have some personal reason for having it sent to this

business address. I'm not real interested in the specifics, as long

as I'm not doing anything illegal myself, I don't care that much.

If they try to sue me, I think they would have better cases to work

on.
