Hi again,Early Treatment (ET) w/ EDF casting to cure a progressive infantile scoliosis (PIS) is fairly new in the ortho world and only a handful of orthos around the world understand and have been trained on the necessary principles of this effective treatment modality.  One if the most experienced “Early Treatment,” Centers in the U.S. is the Golisano Childrens Hospital at Strong Memorial at the Univ . of Rochester.  2 docs there have been trained by the pioneer of Early Treatment w/ EDF casting for PIS and are applying this gentle cure to their young patients.  May I recommend that you contact them asap.  Infants & young children have a window of rapid growth (under 2yrs) to benefit from ET and your daughter will be in experienced hands there.  You can find the hospital/docs contact info in the database section of this group.  Please contact me direct if you have any questions.  I can cover a lot more ground by phone.Sincerely,HRH(ISOP Founder & CAST group owner)(303) 507 2485 MTN time From: infantile scoliosis treatment [mailto:infantile scoliosis treatment ] On Behalf Of cardear4lSent: Wednesday, June 29, 2011 7:30 AMinfantile scoliosis treatment Subject: Re: Breesimo We will be taking her to see Dr. Katz here in Syracuse, NY. I just found out that there are only three orthopedic surgeons here in this area. This is not a problem because I have been looking into this specialty some and there are more great places to take here that are not to far away, of course we are willing to travel for our little girl. I am glad to here that your daughter is doing so well with her casting treatments. This seems to be the best option with the best results for these children. It is sad to think that my baby will have to miss out on so many things if she gets a cast on though. She loves her bath, and swimming will be hard to deal with with her especially with the other kids swimming in my back yard, and food/drink messes because babies are not the cleanest creatures around. What ever is needed to help her though. > > > From: cardear4l <cardear4l@...>> Subject: Breesimo> infantile scoliosis treatment > Date: Wednesday, June 29, 2011, 2:03 AM> > > Â > > > > Hi, my name is Kim and I found out last week that my 10 month old daughter Breese has a 35 degree curve to the right lumbar area of her spine and that she has scoliosis. This came about from an urgent care visit to check that she did not asperate a thick piece of plastic she had swallowed, so it was stumbled upon by accident! I have been so freaked out and researching this like crazy in all my free time. I find myself staring at her back wondering how I did not see this and what can be done to correct it. I can not find any inforamtion on infantile scoliosis to the right in that area of the spine. I am very concerned and have expressed this to the Orthopedic surgeon we are going to see and have had our appointment bumped up by two weeks, leaving us two weeks to wait it out and continue to wonder. If any one has any information on this I would love to hear (or read it). > Thanks, Kim>
