Guest guest
Hi again everyone. Sophie is 16 and does not have a diagnosis of Aspergers Syndrome - we strongly suspect she has it but very high functioning. She is adverse to any suggestion that she may have Aspergers. She is suffering badly with extreme mood swings, PMT, depression, migraines, self harming (from age 14-15), feeling sick, irregular periods (she has been tested for polycystic ovaries and is borderline - I have this condition also) so we decided to take her to the doctors a couple of months ago and the GP put her on the Dianette pill to help regulate her cycle, hopefully even out the PMT and clear up her acne - although the acne is virtually clear now after an aggressive course of Roaccutane acne treatment for 6 months with a dermatologist last year. Over the last several years she has missed alot of school due to ill health which has been debilitating. She is off school again this week. We have also had the education welfare officer on our backs a couple of times about her lack of school attendance, of which I have put them right! I have also explained everything to my daughter's teachers about the possible AS and the borderline polycystic ovaries etc. and that we were trying to work out the best solutions for her. Sophie has agreed today she wants to come off Dianette, its making her symptoms far worse. She has an extremely poor diet and chooses very bland foods, nearly as bad as my ASD 13 yr old sons diet. Her whole body is out of kilter. Has anyone taken their child to Muscroft in Cheshire? Also anyone taken their child to Tommey, The Autism Clinic? I am asking for any feedback good or bad as I want to get both my son and daughter tested etc. Many thanks! Alison
Guest guest
Hi Alison Adding fish oils to our daughters diet and regular visits to the cranial osteopath have regulated her periods.. the fish oils help stop cramps and tummy aches and are also good for the skin ... they help body deal with junk fats if diet is unbalanced.. and improve brain function too. Poor blood sugar control can do the depression, mood swings pmt STUFF too.. so a diet high in refined sugars and carbs will be aggrevating blood sugar balance. Blood sugar issues can also lead to anger and aggression... One of the biggest missing elements in our kids food is zinc and this is often shown up in poor skin .. though many of us have found that most off the shelf zinc supps are not easily tolerated... The liquid zinc is tolerated better. The general diet may be making her body extremely acidic..and in this acid state the body is much more likely to be receptive to viral and bacterial infections.. We have used neither nor athan Tommey... though have seen improvements with organic foods, no wheat or corn or dairy, and following the Scotson Protocol diet. which is a nutricious way of feeding the body and alkalising it at the same time. Best wishes Tracey On Tue, Mar 9, 2010 at 5:29 PM, Alison <whizzali@...> wrote: Hi again everyone. Guest guest
Hi Alison, helped us get us get started about 4 years ago (or boy recovered from autism) we think she is great. We have consulted with her ourselves too and also my parents and she has some good advice. I recovered from endometriosis following biomed for myself. Over 20+ years of severe period probs. My problems were severely aggravated by the pill and, sadly, everything that was ever prescribed. A radical change of diet and working on gut bugs and good bacteria (we discovered fermented foods) have completely got rid of of my period problems. Hope things improve for your daughter.
