Guest guest
Our daughter has a sacral dimple as well. She had an MRI that came back fine also. She has no issues with it other than the scoliosis. We have obviously treated him for scoliosis already and he is coming along great in all other aspects but is there anything else to be alarmed about? I had read that this is a typical issue for some scoliosis patients but believe it or not I just noticed it so just wanted to check it out with all of you. MRI and x-rays have come back fine with the exception of the scoliosis. Thanks, Dave ------------------------------------
Guest guest
Has the MRI been read by a Neurosurgeon? I would just always suggest that you have it reviewed by them for tethered cord as that is a common reason for the dimple and scoliosis. We were told by our neurosurgeon that radiologists miss tethered cords a good portion of the time and orthos do as well. Guest guest
I also agree with that. We had ours read by a neurosurgeon too b/c they thought she had tethered cord but thankfully she didn't.On Wed, Oct 12, 2011 at 11:36 AM, Jane Bigler <janemhar@...> wrote: Has the MRI been read by a Neurosurgeon? Guest guest
Oh, the other thing our neurosurgeon said is that if you had an MRI prior to 2-3 years of age, you should have it repeated after that age as sometimes they can't tell when they are so tiny. Guest guest
Some kiddos just have one...If your super concerned just bring it up to the doc so you're not worried about it.
