Guest guest
Hello. I am a mom to Madison - will be three in September and Cameron (3 months old). Madison was born with Hip Displaysia and put in the pavlik harness which made the hips normal after about 6-8 months. At 13 months I found a lump on her lower back. Went to the orthopaedic and they did an MRI and saw the early stages of infantile scoliosis. They followed her curves. Back in October she was showing curves around 25-27 degrees (2 curves for her) and in April it jumped to 40 degrees for both. Tried the bracing and have been successful for night wearing. Recently we changed orthopaedics due to various reasons and the doctor at Boston Childrens spoke about casting her as an option. We go August 15 for the first cast and are scared to death about it. Really hoping for some success with the casting. My sister ended up having two back surgeries for scoliosis - she was in eighth grade for the first and a senior in high school for the second but never found hers this early on. There are so many questions and reading the updates on here are so promising and uplifting. It is tough to think what she will go through over the next year or so and hope that my son doesn't have the early signs of scoliosis. le
