No, I am not at all opposed to IVIG. I would love to have this for my daughter. But, my experience is that doctors will not deem my daughter worthy to give it to her- She has Rett syndrome. Doctors look at this as a lost cause. I believe it is very expensive and if it is not a treatment they want to pursue I was wondering what alternative thing I could try that might be helpful. I have given her Transfer Factors and colostrum when she was younger and they really helped her stool.I have to be very vigilant about her digestive health or she easily becomes constipated. I would love to give her something that would make her feel better and improve her health.SallyDe : Darla <rexel4@...>À : Autism Treatment Envoyé le : Jeu 25 Février 2010, 16 h 31 min 53 sObjet : Re: Re: low immunogobulin G

Are you keen to avoid the IVIG or just wondering if something else might help as well? I had gamma globulin injections when I was a child because of reduced immunity and I remember feeling dramatically better. I didn't think IVIG was risky, is it? Other than the risk of infection due to the IV. Sorry not much help and maybe too nosy but just thought I'd share my experience - also once I had a series of the gamma globulin injections I stopped having persistent life-threatening infections.

We tried an IgG powder - we read some people thought it was as good (but I'm vague about this - it would be worth checking).

We felt it was somehow beneficial but we didn't stick with it (I think at the time we had allergens to rule out and too many other things to pursue). I think we've still got the old tub somewhere but I can't remember the name - it was a tub of powder possibly similar to the first link. I was interested to see the others below - looks like there is a demand for this kind of supplement.

Sorry, silly me, I got it completely backwards and wasn't helpful at all.   I would hope that they would offer it to her if she needed it, fingers crossed for you.

How is her sleep?  Sorting that out seemed to make a difference for our son as far as his chronic gastroenteritis and other immune issues.

Also probiotics helped a lot with immunity although you've probably already tried them.

Best wishes,

Darla
