Guest guest
, my daughter Kylie 26 months just got her first cast on Tuesday. Tuesday was challenging. All she wanted was to be held and it seemed like finding a position that we were both comfortable in was tough. I left the hospital at 11 pm on Tuesday as she finally was drifting to sleep. (She stayed with Dad while I went to take our 10 month old who still is nursing back to the hotel). It was so hard to leave her but when I arrived at 7 the next morning, I arrived to a totally different girl. She was up, changed and was so excited to see me and show her cast and how she was walking. We had a 2 hour drive home and by the time we got home, she was beat (also had a pretty good cough going) and I ended up giving her tylenol again as she seemed uncomfortable. This morning she was not interested in eating or moving but I finally convinced her to go to our play area and she wanted to play dress up. Once we did that she seemed to perk up. She's being creative on how to get around and play. Sometimes she's frustrated, other times she isn't. This evening we took her to the park and she was incredible! I couldn't believe how well she got around. Once we got home she is very tuckered out and just wants to cuddle. I almost cried when she asked for a shower after the park but she accepted our " no, not with the cast it can't get wet " answer. It does get better!!!
