Fingers crossed that will have a brace free summer!HRH From: infantile scoliosis treatment [mailto:infantile scoliosis treatment ] On Behalf Of DSent: Tuesday, June 07, 2011 7:57 AMinfantile scoliosis treatment Subject: How are children doing after the brace comes off? Hi everyone,We are hoping that soon 's brace will come off forever and we are nervously awaiting our next appointment to find out how his spine has held up over the past 6 months in the brace. If we are lucky enough to take off the brace, I was hoping to learn how any other children have done since their braces were removed. Can anyone let me know whether your children have remained fine without the brace or whether there might have been a relapse and what to expect? Thanks so much and thank everyone for all of the help along the way.Best,Dave

That's really good to know! Thank you! You say "undetectable"...what does that mean, exactly? I'm sure under 10 degrees, but do they take x-rays? Also, how often does he get checked and/or x-rayed? Does his doctor think he'll have any relapses or problems in the future?Thank you!~Mom to , age 4.5, 3 casts in Michigan, Cobb 36 precast ~ Cobb 10 in cast#3 ~ holding at Cobb "10-ish" in brace (since August 2010)From: H <christinehrph@...>"infantile scoliosis treatment " <infantile scoliosis treatment >Sent: Fri, June 10, 2011 9:57:24 AMSubject: Re: How are children doing after the brace comes off?

Undetectable I say is less then 10 degrees I asked lAst year for a new brace to

hold him in perfect position while he sleeps and they laughed and said you have

nothing to push on. He has not been seen in over a year because we don't want x

ray s and when he bends over his spine and rotation look great straight spine

and no rotation really
