Guest guest
Hi Everyone Rough start to the morning - didn't sleep all that well (dog issues!). Anyway, this morning I almost did Turbo Jam's Punch, Kick & Jam, but after previewing a little of it while I was warming up, I thought it may be too much for my re-introduction to kickboxing. I haven't done any kickboxing since last year due to my back, but, since my back is feeling much better these days I thought I'd try it out again. TJ looked too fast for me, though to re-start so I tried a new one - Voight's Cardio Effect from her "Sleek" set. I have to say, this is the best workout of the three - and it barely uses the foam roller (just in the ab section!). These are NOT foam roller workouts - they are regular workouts that just use the roller as a gadget. Kind of disappointing. They aren't bad workouts, but they are NOT foam roller workouts. This cardio workout was the best of the three in my opinion. It is sort of a kickboxing/cardio workout. intermixes some kickboxing moves with some of her "style" of cardio exercises. It worked pretty well together. There are four combos, then a leg toning section (which is pretty tough - floorwork focused on the butt!), then an ab section that uses the roller and a decent athletic stretch at the end. My back isn't mad at me, so that is good. I'm not sure that doing kickboxing regularly is right for me, but I think I can do it occasionally without problems. After that I did a recorded Classical Stretch workout - my favorite one - the muscle chains episode that focused on some good upper, lower and back stretches. Hope everyone has a good day! Tomorrow is strength, I haven't decided yet on what to do. I was going to try one of the Margaret DVDs I have - I see she has a new kit available from QVC, so I may try to see if I like her style or not.Donna
