Guest guest
One thing that I have families I work with do is make a list of their child's strongest reinforcers, then we back it out into steps. You want to move slowly with this because if you move too fast you will cause the EO to be lost because the demands have been pushed too far. If you do this it will allow you to have a greater number of mands trials per day. This process is known as contriving transitive EOs. For example: Reinforcer: Swing 10. Therapist: What do you need me to do? Child: Push me 9. Therapist: What do you want? Child: Swing 8. Therapist: What do you need me to do? Child: Open door 7. Therapist: What do you need? Child: shoes 6. Therapist: What do you need? Child: socks 5. Therapist: What do you need to wear on your head? Child: hat Jenn Godwin Greensboro, NC ABAqueen1@...
