Guest guest
We use a token board. If the task is more difficult (receptive for Jer) we start by only using 5 tokens with a one to one ratio (one token per correct response). He knows what he is working for and knows that the quicker he responds correctly, the quicker he gets what he wants. The token board works as a kind of timer. If the tasks are less difficult the tokens can be given in a variable way. At one point the token board had become too long and too much the same (one token per 2 correct responses using ten tokens). Well, we lost Jer and had a lot of the inattention you are talking about. We reworked the system and it made all the difference. The nice thing about it is that now we know -- so that even for some really difficult stuff we may only use three tokens (2 are already on).
