Guest guest
I have 2 different sitters. One watches 2 days a week and the other 3 days a week. Home daycare for both. I would say that the first week that Avery had her cast was the hardest, but that was just because they had to get used to it.They both came over to see her the weekend after she got it, to kind of get a feel for it. I know that they were both nervous, but now you can hardly tell she has it. My sister is one of my sitters and she watches my twin daughters, (17 months) and her son (15 months) without an issue .Hopefully once she has a couple of days in, she will see that it isn't too bad. Good luck.RandiMom to Avery and 17 months. Born 10 weeks early, Avery with reflux, torticollis and scoliosis. 38 degree curve and 20 degree rotation.Down to 19 degree curve in cast #1 since 2/18/2011 :)From: "kfaul@..." <kfaul@...>infantile scoliosis treatment Sent: Thu, March 10, 2011 11:35:44 AMSubject: Child care? Just a question for everyone: my sitter is nervous about taking because of his cast. How do I reassure her? As far as we know has no other medical issues. I am hoping that once he is casted he will be able to walk and be more independent than he is now. Also, when I go back to work in August he will be at the end of his 2nd cast. In your experience do you think it is better to put him in a daycare where he can get one on one? Rather than a dayhome? (I extended my mat leave by 6 months b\c of the time off that I would have needed for the medical appts. I expect it to slow down a bit once he is casted).
