Guest guest
That's news to me that Abram Hoffer passed away:-(( I read up a lot on Hoffer. Good friends of ours worked at the University Of Saskatchewan and said he was a very controversial light there. Hoffer was very interested in the Vitamin C connection and maligned along with Linus ing for his beliefs. Silly really because the importance of Vitamin C is not a belief, it is a scientific fact. Vitamin C is a co-factor in the the Omega 3 fatty acids pathway; likewise in the dopamine pathway. In times of stress when the adrenal glands are shooting out cortisol the requirement for Vitamin C supercedes normal daily requirements. Ths is NO longer rocket science. The drug companies had the temerity to go after these two gentleman starting in the 60s but both stood their ground defiantly. And they had a LOOOOOOOG time to be defiant as both lived well into their 90s, outliving the many of the orginal nasty people who tried so hard to rubbish their research. Few people realize that Linus ing was on the 'other' team in the race to uncover the secrets of the DNA in the late 40s and 50s. ing was with the Stanford team in the States at the same time that Crick and colleagues were in the UK. The Brits won out but not before ing proved himself to be an intellectual heavyweight in biochemistry. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abram_Hoffer Margaret schrieb: > > > I'd better look into this as H's grandmother had schizophrenia. > Margaret. > > > > > > > We were using 500mg of Niacinamide but I could not figure out > whether it > > > was helping or whether it was the culprit keeping him awake longer > so removed > > > and plan to try again. > > > > > > What doses does this guy consider high? > > > > > > Mandi x > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > > No virus found in this incoming message. > Checked by AVG - www.avg.com > Version: 8.5.435 / Virus Database: 271.1.1/2707 - Release Date: 02/24/10 07:34:00 > >
Guest guest
Hi , do you have the main studies re Vitamin C and Fatty acid synthesis – this would be so helpful for some families that I know have issues with fatty acids, as in kids go hyper and don’t seem to be able to absorb the fats. I researched schizophrenia quite a lot last year. What was very clear was a very high level of stress in the body coming from undefined sources. (same as in autism!) When the body is under stress, the requirement for Vitamin C is higher.....Stress increases fatty acid turnover for one thing. Increased fatty acid turnover requires more fatty acids to take their place. Vitamin C is a co-factor in fatty acid synthesis. No vitamin C=no fatty acid synthesis. The body begins to break down.... wrote up a case study several years ago regarding a young schizophrenic whom she gave Omega 3s. His schizophrenia symptoms resolved. Unfortunately he stopped taking them and the symptoms came back. (Interestingly an MRI was done before and after supplementation. His atrophied brain before supplementation regained volume after supplementation.) JULIE GRIFFITHS schrieb: > That's news to me that Abram Hoffer passed away:-(( > > I read up a lot on Hoffer.
