I do remember a little girl having this. Here is her story. Please let me know if this does not come through.

Good luck and keep us posted.

TashaMommy of 5 year old twin boys- and Fort Worth, Texas is treated at Texas ish Rite Hospital in Dallas, Texas. After being treated in a series of 6 casts for 14 months he is now in a brace and has been since September 2007.

EARLY Treatment does work if done properly.

Our duaghter currently wears a hip abduction brace (Rhino Cruiser) at night as part of treatment for hip dysplasia. She previously had a spica cast for this condition.Next month our daughter will have her first Mehta cast placed for infantile scoliosis. Does anyone have experience with a child wearing a hip abduction brace and Mehta cast simultaneously? Thanks.

Hello,My son Thaddeus is currently wearing a TLSO brace and the rino at night. We will be getting cast one next week. We are hoping with the correction of his spine he will not need the Rino for much longer. Our Ortho said they will just flair out the top of the Rino to fit the cast. I will let you know how it go's next week.Mommy to Thaddeus 28 months Sent from my iPhoneOn 2011-05-17, at 6:00 AM, "abacusbeads" <abacusbeads@...> wrote:

Hello,

My daughter Novella also has hip dysplasia and scoliosis. They treated her at

the same time from 4months to 8months in a combo spica/EDF cast. There are

pictures of her in the photo section of the group. Since she has already had a

spica they might switch her to an ifeld brace (sp?) when your child is in cast.

Novella has a scoli brace and also wears the ifeld hip brace. The hip brace just

has 2 cuffs around the thighs and a strap that anchors around the back to raise

the hips to the correct position. Novella was in a rhino brace before the

casting and I'm not sure her rhino brace would have fit properly while in the

cast. Let me know if you have any questions. Good luck to you and your child :)

Ali,

Novella's Mom
