He didn't mean to talk, its was one of those falls out his mouth moments, I think he stopped because it worried him, that's what we have seen in the past but I'll take what I can get!

Singing! That is so fabulous Mandi. God, could use all the good news I can get

today, and this is really the best news. Don't crash the car though!

Bravo Sam. Bravo Mandi.

Love it - that he's singing, not you nearly crashing car! Great idea about the updates, it's always encouraging to hear wonderful things happening and great to spread a smile. xx Autism Treatment From: Mum231ASD@...Date: Thu, 18 Feb 2010 18:16:03 -0500Subject: Sam R Update

He is 13 now - arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh and I think his voice is breaking - making new lower tone sounds which often end in a squeak - OMG!

Tonight he was 'singing' along with CD in car, for only about 20 seconds, wheels on the bus, he said round and round :) I nearly crashed!

Had yeast flare after last round of TD DMPS coupled with sneaking sweet things, his problem solving skills must be more than age appropriate!

We had 10 days of heaven following starting Kirkman Amino Support (4 caps at night) but the yeast flare after chelation messed that up

Just finished day 4 of planned 7 day daily dosing of KIB 500 - we have definitely had die off this time, as evidenced by behaviour (implusive, intense), red ear and some real spooky looking stools, frogspawn type texture, tan coloured but still kinda holding together, like its been aerated. Not seen anything change much skin wise - he is a known Herpes kid. No smell to poop or pee........

Most recently resisting HANDLE exercises he was cool with before but loving hug and tug on toes as well as hands but only if he chooses which limb you start on and which end of the hand, we start on little on the feet. Likes jiggle bridge but squirming with skull and face tapping :( Anyways change is good I reckon that means its doing summat

Has two sessions of intense academics at school in a day now, one of which is independant, he does it well after shakey start but he still can't see the point, (most of the time neither can I) but self occupation is a biggie here.

Enjoying his weekly gym session, prefers the eliptical trainer to the treadmill which gave him a shock when he decided to stop dead lol

Off to learn Scotson on 8th March, nervous and excited and hopeful at the same time :)

Oh wow Mandi that sounds significant. Tom's still on single words but before he

got (back) to that stage he'd have words of songs " pop out " . I.e. when he

wasn't really thinking about it and was relaxed (or conversely really stressed)

words would just materialise but he couldn't summon them at will. That's what

Sam's done, his brain has found the connection. Tom can now deliberately

vocalise (mostly demands LOL) and sounds like Sam can do that (but now in

deeper, sexier voice) Very excited for you xx

Hi Mandi,

I'm grinning from ear to ear, Love it and here's to more singing,

talking, everything crossed for your young man :-))))

With voice breaking, I never even knew when Norman's broke, he's been oh

so silent for years. Just recently out of the blue started " yelping " -

definitely made me jump! then he goes silent.... and then out of

nowhere he starts vocalising " ahhh " sound in a deep throaty voice and

then the silence continues. Something funny, when he was younger

3-4yrs old (doing ABA), he'd learnt to say " ma " and " da " and few other

sounds/words, we started working on joining sounds and from nowhere he

came up with " ma-da " . From then he went round screaming " mada "

(sounding like " murder " ) everywhere we went, had to keep making quick

exits when yelling out " murder (mada) " in the shops and if it wasn't

this, he would go round making donald duck sounds, you can just imagine

the looks we got.

Hi Mandi, I have just been catching up on here and saw your update on

Sam....He's singing...you must be jumping for joy....I hope this is just the

start and I wish you a lovely time at the Advance centre learning Scotson.

We go for our third training session there in April. I love every parent we

meet there it is such a lovely atmosphere it is only us that cause mayhem

there...we create chaos wherever we seem to go lol.

Adam is thriving and is so much calmer which I am sure is TST. This has had a

knock on effect in every other therapy we do. I hope it is the one for Sam.

Hope it all goes well.

Hi Georgina.

So lovely to hear about even more families who are noticing such significant benefits on TST...

Best wishes
