Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I tried searching to see if this was asked before, but it is taking a while. So, I thought I would just ask again. Avery is in cast #1 and has had it for 7 weeks now. She hasn't had any issues with sores or anything, but this week has been getting warmer. We live in Indiana, so it has been cool since she got it. It got warm a couple of days, but by the next day it was snowing . Anyway, earlier this week we noticed that she is having some itching issues under her belly. I noticed that the " petal " tape was coming loose and turning to stick to her belly, so I added more (they sent a roll home with me). This has seemed to help her belly. But, while I was adding the tape I decided to do a spot check for more issues. In each armpit there is a sore spot. Looks just like if there had been a blister and the dead skin is now gone. They didn't look like this a couple of days ago, I know because I have been checking them. We were outside today for about 2 hours. It was only 72, but she was a little hot. These spots don't seem to be bothering her, but I don't see them getting better unless I do something. She does have mole skin tape under her arms to help with rubbing. Maybe I just need to replace this too. Her armpits did stink like she had been sweating, so maybe I just need to dress her in one less layer than she would normally wear to reduce sweating? Are there any suggestions as to what I could do to help these? Hopefully stop them from getting worse? Thanks so much! Randi Mom to Avery and 18 months. Avery in 1st cast down from 38* to 19*.
