One is for red blood cells (anemia/Neupogen?) and the other builds white which helps the immune system. I am still mildly sick now, am just around too many bags of germs. It is hard, I have three kindergartners that love a hug every time they come onto or get off the bus. Truthfully, I would hate to give the hugs up too, can imagine how you feel needing to stay away from kids! I hope your doc can give you the right one to help on Monday. I got a copy of my MRI results on Thursday and I am not pleased. I now have 4 cervical disks bulging, the 4th is new and "seems mild," along with some other stuff I don't understand... including a spot they thought might be cancerous last time (HUH??) which seems stable thus likely benign. I waited as long as I could for the doc to call so we could talk about all this and he could explain what some of the other stuff means. The Dufus called at 3:35 when he knows damn well I am driving the bags home... grrrr. His nurse left a message a bit later and said he sees nothing in the MRI to worry about, except the protrusions... the end. The pain is not mild and getting worse each week. Used to be I would mostly recover over a weekend, not it seems to accumulate. I am going to talk with his nurse on Monday so she can talk to him. May write a note to him... he is a GP and if he can't help he needs to refer me to someone who can... shit. Really wouldn't want to wish this on anyone, but a day in my shoes would be an eye opener. Is getting so that hanging onto the steering wheel is harder each day of the week... snivel whine moan groan, lol. My good news is my last shot of Peg was also on Thursday. I made a big carrot cake with cream cheese frosting (should have made two, sounds good) and bought some Hershey's Hugs and Kisses. I took them to the clinic with me, kind of their reward for putting up with me for over a year now, lol. I take the last of the Riba on Wednesday and hopefully my last lab draw on Thursday. Will recheck viral load in 6 months I think, but am confident the nasty little buggers are dead. Good luck Monday Gail and hope you get feeling better over this weekend. A lot of the people that were on the same treatment as me complained of an impaired immune system afterwards.I was on the old treatment of interferon at 3 shots a wk and riboveron at 5pills a day.It is basically cancer treatment and I know there is a drug that they use for cancer patients to improve their immune system.I just have to find out what it is.I am very sick with a head and chest cold.Am forcing myself to eat and through the whole day I eat one peice of toast,2 egg rolls. and some meat at night the size of a hamberg..I have diarrea that is like water,I have to hold my head when I cough.I feel like shit.Take care hon Gail The light at the end of the tunnel may be you

Guest guest
Thanks Gail & Connie... I have never had one, probably a good idea. No menopause yet, but only have ovaries left. I keep hoping I have gone through it already and just didn't notice... it could happen! I do know what caused my disks to protrude... 3 car wrecks and one stampede. All four incidents done to me by males I might add, lol. There is a bunch of other stuff in the MRI report... one area has spurs, one area has dehydration with narrowing, C5-6 has disc protrusion with almost complete loss of CSF anterior to the cord... and on and on, the quickie version. I am frustrated and pissed and a bit bummed that he would have her leave a message like that and just drop the ball... done deal. I have about reached my limits and need some help. Catch you later, Llinda ***** ask the doctor to do a bone density exray on you spine.I think that between having hep c, probably the change of life and treatment it all causes our bones to get ostioparosis. If I don't rest when I need it or if I get sick,I feel like my back is breaking in half.Ask for the test hon,Bone Density Exray. It will how thin your bones have gotton. Guest guest
I have a lot more lower back pain now than before tx. I have mild deterioration of 2 lumbar disks. De RE: immune systems, & my MRI ask the doctor to do a bone density exray on you spine.I think that between having hep c, probably the change of life and treatment it all causes our bones to get ostioparosis. If I don't rest when I need it or if I get sick,I feel like my back is breaking in half.Ask for the test hon,Bone Density Exray. It will how thin your bones have gotton. Guest guest
Glad it helped Connie. It also comes in pill form which is the way I take it. My doc prescribed Celebrex - it didn't even touch the back pain so I stopped taking it & tried the glucosamine. It worked better for me than anything else I've tried. Man there are a lot of arthritics in the group - you think it's the hep or just that we're none of us getting any younger? Guest guest
go for a bone density exray and I think you will find out you have ostioparosis. That also goes for the rest of you that are having a lot more back pain since treatment and you are finished treatment.Go for a Bone Density Exray and you can then be treated for the proper problem. Guest guest
Hate to tell ya I had my utterus taken out at 29 and yes I went through the change starting at 45 and ending at 55.Welcome to the party Gail -----Original Message-----From: Hepatitis CSupportGroupForDummies [mailto:Hepatitis CSupportGroupForDummies ]On Behalf Of LlindaSent: October 1, 2005 3:06 PMHepatitis CSupportGroupForDummies Subject: RE: immune systems, & my MRI Thanks Gail & Connie... Guest guest
I had my estrogen checked every year so that I would know when I was going through the change.I was getting kind of sensitive and cranky periods so had it checked and yes it was low estrogen.Get the bone density test and you will find out more.I have had the tests you had and it showed I had arthritis, cause I was also in a couple of accidents.Rear ended at a stop light both times in Toronto. The bone density test will show even more. Guest guest
I think it’s both the hep & age. I’m not sure about the other forms of arthritis, but rheumatoid is an autoimmune disease, which tend to run in groups and are exacerbated by the hep. How much glucosamine? Guest guest
I’ll add that to my list of things for January, along with my probable ovary removal. . I’m not spending $1000 deductible this year if I can help it, since I know I have to next year. Guest guest
De, Exacerbated, yup. one ounce or two tablespoons a day of the liquid, which works more quickly than the capsules. It relubes the joints. Helps my knees a LOT. Connie Motley <dmotley@...> wrote: I think it’s both the hep & age.
