Guest guest
I have a 4 litre " Hotel " half full of the little perishers. It was basically just me letting off steam in public and indicating to the masses how easily mould sets in with NO protection in the form of SCOBY, or starter. But thanks anyway. [{;-)) Nn. England. Re: Cast in the wrong mould! Dear , No SCOBY does not necessarily mean no KT. If you add plain, sugared tea to existing starter, a scoby will build up, but I have read on the internet that you thus risk getting a scoby with less than the full composition of bacteria. If you have nothing else to start with, at least you will get a functional mushroom until you have a new scoby. (Did you ever find your scoby?). In any case, to be on the safe side, it is always best to have several batches going. If one is damaged, you still have several going.
