Guest guest Posted July 4, 2005 Report Share Posted July 4, 2005 Seems to me that I've always had that itchAnd I'll be forever looking down that roadEspecially when life's being such a bitchWant to travel so bad I'm about to implode-Need to discover what's 'round that cornerWhat surprises are there waiting for meViews along that road tempt one to lingerBut I'm not stoppin' an that's a guarantee-Cuz there's way too many places to goMany kings and paupers to meet and greetBe wined, dined, warmed by a fires glowTo laugh contagiously without any conceit-Allow a tear to show if sadness be nearBut face all challenges with anticipationCause they bring adventure and not fearLife on-the-road is filled with exhileration-Trying to satiate my unquenchable curiosityAnd maybe fulfill that never ending questInfiltrate hearts, an minds' sans animosityTo gather many friends from east to west-If we could assemble in one great placeTo meet the facinating people out thereAn have time to savor one sweet embraceWe could make this world easier to share-An as we travel this aimless twisting roadTowards our legacy the future generationOur spirit of discovery will carry the loadTho the route seems without a direction-Our indomitable heritage will find the wayWe're all hobo's at heart right from birthAncesters instilled the desire on that dayThey gathered all that they were worth-And struck out for the unknown alone Climbed aboard ship, or prairie schooner Maybe with just a horse, a dog an a bone But they were coming, later or sooner-And get here they did, our ancesters allFightin' an scrappin' til molded into oneThe white, black, yellow, thin, short an tallAn don't forget our brave proud native son-So let us on this years July 4th celebrationSalute all who's fortitude opened the doorTo discover and forge this great nationThey who heeded a hobo's call to explore Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
