Guest guest
Three times a week I go in for some physical therapy for a shoulder injury... and when I finish the therapy the physical therapist has me take some ultrasound on my shoulder to get in deep into the joint and tissue. Of course I have to take my shirt off and while I was laying there today, he said, " I forget you had the heart surgery until I see your incision. You just do not fit the profile of someone who has had a heart attack and a quad bypass. Your shoulder is healing so well and the routine we put you through here has others who have had a heart attack and surgery gasping for air before they are done. Physically you are in better shape than most your age. " He knows I do not take statins or any other prescription and of course the conversation then goes onto supplements. He is a body builder as a hobby and he works with a supps store in his neighborhood. He has told the owner of this store about me and how I won't take statins or any other drugs and the store owner wants to know how I learned so much and who I am. I told my therapist I will be in that area on Monday and may try to stop by and see the store owner just to introduce myself to him. And.... I just now returned from getting my hair cut and like always the guy who cuts my hair (for years now) has some chit-chat and he stops right in the middle of a sentence and says " are you still taking your supplements? " and of course I said YES and asked why? " Because your hair is getting darker. " The only thing I can think of is that I have increased my intake of BIOTIN which has a side effect of being beneficial on hair and fingernails. I had noticed my fingernails are getting longer faster and are thicker but had not noticed my hair getting darker until my stylist mentioned it. This past Monday night I was talking to a guy at a Boy Scout meeting while waiting for my son to finish his troop meeting. The guy and I were talking about our kids and I told him that I had a 27 year old son in the USAF. His eyes lit up and his mouth dropped and he turned and looked to see how much gray I had in my hair. He then said, " You have a 27 year old son? I confirmed it again. He asked, " If you don't mind me asking, just how old are you? " When I told him that I was 57 he about had a heart attack from the expression on his face. He said, " you do not look at all like you are 57. More like 45. " I thanked him of course and also felt pretty good about my appearance from his compliment. This all happened over the past 5 days. Which proves to me one more time that supplements do work. The only thing I am doing is taking supplements and a little exercise every other day.... oh yeah, and am not taking any prescription drugs of any kind. I know this has no scientific basis to it but it tells me truck loads. Contrary to popular belief, through pharmaceutical company advertising... we do not need their drugs to sustain a good quality of life. Before I get swamped with messages asking what I am taking now... here is the list. Biotin - 10,000 mcg Folic Acid - 400 mcg CoQ10 - 200 mg Saw Palmetto 320 - mg Chromium Picolinate - 500 mcg Niacin (time release) 2000 mg Cinnamon - 500 mg Serrapeptase - 10 mg Policosanol - 10 mg Ed - Moderator
