Guest guest
I just had an ultrasound of my neck arteries, and then the tech stuck the prob in to my left ribcage and I could see inside my heart. The ultrasound images I remember from the past were always fuzzy, but these were sharp and crystal clear images. I am happy to say my arteries are free and clear at age 54. This surprised the heck out of me since my father and grandfather both plugged up with atherosclerosis in their 50's. Whats more, I have been cholesterol and saturated fat feeding myself for the last 10 years. The American heart Association would have a heart attack if they saw how much cholesterol and fat I down each day in my diet. But despite the cholesterol feeding, and despite my high risk family history, and despite low HDL (18) and high triglycerides ( 240) I have no cardiovascular disease whatsoever where visible by ultrasound. The tech was taken back with surprise at my heart valves. They were perfect. " Are you a runner? " he asked. " No " I said.
