Guest guest
Today at 's 6 yr physical she received this new vaccine, it's a conjugated version of the meningococcal vaccine. The Ped reaaaaaly wanted to give it to her even though it is not approved for use in kids under 11. He cleared it with the immuno and she got the shot. Before we went (I knew a couple hours in advance that he wanted to give it to her) I researched it online and found out they are giving it to kids as young as 6 weeks in Canada. It's a killed virus, it's not live. He wants to run post- titers but didn't bother with pre-. (mom to , age 6, dairy intolerant-related GERD -- currently has polysaccharide antibody def, previously had transient IgG, IgA, t-cell & other defs... and also to Kate, age 2, more dairy intolerant but very healthy!)
