Bonnie, statins nearly killed me. This isn't just my opinion, my current doctor agrees (he is not the one who prescribed the Lipitor). Your muscle aches and weakness are due to the toxic side effects of statins. Do yourself a favor and refuse to take even one more dose of Crestor. It robs your body of CoQ10 as well as cholesterol, both of which your body needs. If your cholesterol really is too high, there are better ways to deal with the problem. There is a wealth of information here: http://spacedoc.net From: bonnie_calgaro <retirement2004@...>Lipitor Sent: Wed, March 16, 2011 3:42:10 PMSubject: Aching and Sore Legs

Hi,

I currently take Crestor 10mg. My legs are getting weak and hurting. I would like to cut the pill in half but it is too difficult. I guess I will have to take 10mg every other day.

I notified my pcp and she said I could try it. Also, I do take Fish Oil.

Can I have your opinions.

Bonnie, Statins are degenerative drugs, meaning they can cause deterioration of tissue. Nobody could pay me to take a statin, and if anyone tried to physically force one down my throat, I would fight to the death to keep it out of my system. please take none at all. Take the left overs back to your pharmacist for proper disposal. The Crestor is making your legs weak and hurting so don't take it ever again. I stopped mine 8 years ago after it put me on 2 crutches to get around. Now I'm fine though it took about 6 months to get 95% better. From: bonnie_calgaro <retirement2004@...>Subject: Aching and Sore LegsLipitor Date: Thursday, March 17, 2011, 4:42 AM

Bonnie--

I am taking 80 mg of Vytorin and 200 mg CoQ10 daily, and have no muscle aches

and pains. Makes me wonder if my lack of side effects is due to my diet.

Here's what I eat: all meat and dairy is pasture-fed (4x more nutritious than

conventional). Dairy is all unpasteurized (enzymes and many nutrients not

killed by heat). Fruits and veggies are organic. Avoid (but not eliminate)

pasta, starches, sugar, and simple carbs. Eat eggs and bacon for breakfast.

Meat and salad for lunch and dinner. Take probiotics at every meal (yogurt for

breakfast and kefir with lunch and dinner). Eat plenty of saturated fats and

dietary cholesterol.

Anybody else follow this kind of diet? Basically, it is the diet that predates

our modern industrial food supply (100+ yrs ago).

Somewhere I read that the original patent for Statins in general was to

include COQ10, because it was found that the statins adversely affected

COQ10 levels. When the bean counters discovered the additional cost of the

COQ10, they nixed it, but pharma forgot to tell the consuming public that

taking statins has a COQ10 issue.

Jack, I agree that you are eating a healthful diet. But I don't agree that's going to save you from statins' side effects. Would you expect to be spared the effects of any other kind of poison--arsenic, for example--by your diet? If I were you, I wouldn't take the risk. If and when the effects of statins poisoning do raise their ugly head, then, as with any other toxic substance, harm has already been done. I'm having a sonogram of both kidneys today, due to indications of kidney failure. I'm 99% sure I know what caused the damage. I'm close to your diet Jack. Only I typically eat a couple of el Pastor

tacos for lunch. Being I was raised in a MN Diary farm where we grew

most of our food, I thought I'd better stick to the natural stuff

I took my last one over three years ago, and have still not recovered. There are some of us who will never fully recover from this damage. I just hope and pray I do not get any worse!

Adele,I believe one possible solution for those who suffer slow or no recovery from statins would be to reverse the process. Administering IV with the very enzyme statins inhibit, enhancing metabolic production from the mevalonate pathway, thus restoring what was taken away.I sincerely believe enhancement of this metabolic pathway will facilitate recovery.
