Guest guest
Hi, The insurance will cover the Sub Q. The drs office took care of setting it up for us. I have called IDF but I forgot they are not on CA time. We are given the choice of Baygamm 16% not sure I am spelling it right or staying with GammunN / X I am being told that the 16% makes the Sub Q easier..........not as many pokes. Any one have any thoughts on Baygamm 16% verses gammun N. I will call IDF again in the morning. The Dr is waiting on me to decide which way we want to go. le
Guest guest
from Dale, Mom to Katy, CVID, age 20 Never heard of the Baygamm -- but doesn't mean anything. I would recommend running it by IDF just to be sure you are not getting an inferior product. The difference in 16% solution and 10% solution is the amount of liquid that has to be infused. 20 grams at 10% is 200 ml 20 grams at 16% is 125 ml Therefore you could do the infusion in less time. And the stronger dilution would be okay because it is absorbing slowly through the subcutaneous tissue. But, NOT worth it if the product is not secure!!!!! So, check with them. Guest guest
Dale, Thanks for the information. I will call IDF tomorrow. I may be spelling Baygamm wrong. , 's nurse said thats what the home health care recommend because it was less time involved. I told her I wanted to check with IDF and she had no problem with that. She also said if I wanted Gammunx that she could write the orders for it...........but it would take longer due to the 10% solution. Once we talk to IDF I will give the choice. is waiting for my call in the am on what we decided. I really can't believe how smoothly this is going so far. I'll keep you informed. Thanks again for your help, le
