Did I get that wrong? I thought the GI doc at CHLA that was recommended was Dr.

Hate.

Names...ugh...One of our first docs--looked me straight in the eye and snapped,

" Madam your daughter does not have an immune disorder " and refused to look in my

her mouth when she had thrush was good old " Dr. Jolly " . Btw, our daughter had

zero T-cell function to yeast and deficient Igs across the board. It is so sad

that that some docs can be so self-assured and ignorant. We are blessed to have

a good immunologist now.

(When I was really little, one of my first doctor's name was Dr. Payne, but I

always heard it as PAIN. And my in-laws bought us a used car - actually a van

- about four years ago from Mr. Swindle.)

You mentioned that you live in LA. Do you take la to Los Angeles

Children's?? If so, do you see Dr. Hate or another GI Doc??

When I was in college and needed a dentist, I asked around but nobody had a

recommendation. So I looked in the yellow pages for the funniest name, as I had

no other ideas of how to pick!

Well, I picked Dr. Butt. I don't know if he knew how funny his name was as he

was foreign-born. Well, anyway, his dental skills turned out to be related to

his name, i.e. crappy!!!!

But you don't get a lot of sympathy from people when you admit you picked him

because he had the funniest name!

(mom to , age 5-1/2, dairy intolerant-related GERD -- currently

has polysaccharide antibody def, previously had transient IgG, IgA, t-cell &

other defs... and also to Kate, born 9/19/02, dairy intolerant)
