Guest guest
Thanks SuZie... I thought about the education aspect too and welcome it to some degree. But, I am also worried about my job, although it might be enough to get me that disability, who knows. Still doubt I will be able to tolerate the job anyway. I be dazed and confused for so long, lol. The new boss and I do not get along... oh hell, there is only one kiss ass that gets along with him. Everyone else just tries to keep their mouths shut around the jerk. The problem is of course that I work with children. There is the Disability Act... combine that with the fact that I have worked for them almost 11 years now with a great record while having hep, even if I didn't know it. Hell, I haven't even been able to transmit it to my hubby... if anyone was going to get it he would! I am stressed out big time but in a funny way am kind of glad it is in the open. If they want to play nasty fine, I will try not to stoop to their level and educate their butts. Just wish my head wasn't so full of cotton candy these days. Sure puts a damper on the thinking process! Later... Llooney Llinda Oh man... here is an email I just got from a friend that lives in Louisiana but on higher ground. Nasty down there... heard they are trying to evacuate the remaining people too... All safe...but New Orleans is gone!! Literally! Under water and still rising! East bank levee and west bank levee both broke! Nothing but a big soup bowl down there. The flood waters are becoming caustic. Raw sewage, chemicals from the manufacturing plants etc. Not a good thing. About 10k people in the Super Dome with no air conditioning and the toilets don't work now, backing up due to the flooding. Talking about 6 months before they get things cleaned up down there, who knows!Steve Llinda, don't worry, things will turn out OK. My employer knew about the Hep from the day I found out myself & it made no difference to him. For a few months - 6 or more - I told everyone I came in contact with about it, I had a big case of verbal diarhea & no one seemed to care. My freinds accepted it, my enemies didn't give a shit. You live in a small town, use this oppertunity to educate people about HCV, they'll listen to what you have to say(hopefully) Just one person listens & learns, you'll make the world a better place for everyone with HCV & who knows, if one person gets tested because of your story, it's all good - specially if they test positive. We love you girl so if things get heavy, come & vent. You won't believe the downright stupid things people get in their brains about HCV. I had one person ask if it was " that kind of hepatitis that turns into AIDS?" I straightened her out & I feel good that I could. Take care girl. Guest guest
I don't think that they can give you any problems re: working with kids. I know nurses and so forth that have hepc - that would be discriminatory if they did. My brain is a little fuzzy again today - hope I am making sense lol. Everyone knows about my hepc - it has actually been better for me - cuz when I have a bad day I don't have to make excuses... I have had a few piss poor reactions, but screw 'em.! Guest guest
Llinda, I think I remember you mentioning the new boss & the problems he was giving you last spring but as long as the MOT gives you an O K to drive there's nothing he can do about it, right? I mean the guy's an asshole but he'll just have to swallow it as long as the MOT says you're O K. Whatever happens I believe it's all for the good, a learning experience for all. SuZie Has anybody heard from Deb? Llinda <2llama@...> wrote: Thanks SuZie... I thought about the education aspect too and welcome it to some degree.
