Guest guest
Group,Attached article great insight on effects of both statins and other pre-/post MI drugs on our respective lifestyle. I found it difficult to adjust my scratch cooking style to eliminate the dietary risk factors while at the same time my sense of taste was increasingly queered by strong inorganic-metallic taste in the pallet. Both the Primary MD and Cardio trivalized my comments on this subject during office visits but the effects lingered as I reverse titrated off the beta blockers and statins. There was a short period of time while trying to include HCTZ diuretic into the daily meds package and after two weeks the increasing bitter taste was literally gagging and I discontinued that drug. Once again the Primary stated "he never heard of that symptom" but did not push me to continue. For what it's worth this aspect, at least for me, was reversable after now some 6 months after discontinuing the statins. Still taking Plavix and Avapro so they at least for me are not in that taste equation. Increasing daily intake of fish oil was just as effective in reducing BP as that HCTZ without all of the negatives.Hope this helps some questions and concerns out there.T/ Chicago, ILhttp://www.denverpost.com/lifestyles/ci_10819814?source=email
