Guest guest
Yup, you live in the USA where they'll do anything to suppress truthful information that might harm their bottom line. That seems to be the " American way " these days. Remember, the cardiologists are just wrapping up a huge conference over in Florida and one of the " goodies " that they will be bringing back to their practices is how to push more statins on more people using the Jupiter study as justification. So anything that will work against this next wave of statin terrorism is a big threat to them. Warn your friends and relatives!!! phine > > Hey all, > > I have been active on the webmd Dr. Richman cholesterol boards. Guest guest
Thanks Pamela, I will hang in there. WebMD forum is telling me to " give it a rest " . They deleted my posting titled STATINS AND MEMORY which linked to the article from Iowa State University. Guest guest
phine, When I posted the actual 1.9 year NNT scores from Jupiter on WebMD, there was backlash. I have remained curtious thru my postings, maintaining an attitude that consumers are entitled to complete information from Jupiter. Not just selected info. Guest guest
One board I posted my own story on there was a person there that kept attacking what I was saying. She was going at it with such a vengance that I KNEW she was in the medical field.... why else would she care enough to keep posting to disputer everything I said? She finally admitted she is a nurse, her husband is a doctor. She kept repeting over and over that it is up to the patient to research every drug they are given to take, NOT the doctor! They (the medical profession) have been sold such a sale job on these drugs that they will defend it to their last breath. They really DO believe the garbage the drug companies are telling them without realizing they (drug companies) are only protecting their bottom line $$$$$. My bet is Web MD is funded/supported by the medical community. Right? I just say, keep repeting our stories to ALL doctors. They don't want to hear it but if they hear it enought they may be able to add things up for themselves. LOL! I view every new doctor I see as a new audience to tell my story to. > > Hey all, > > I have been active on the webmd Dr. Richman cholesterol boards. Guest guest
No matter how much they attack, always remember that the doctor IS ALWAYS responsible for doing the research on the drugs that they are prescribing to their patients otherwise, they shouldn't be prescribing them. phine > > > > Hey all, > > > > I have been active on the webmd Dr. Richman cholesterol boards. Guest guest
Yes. Webmd has sponsers including big pharma. The medical experts that participate in the boards answering patient questions, are more likely to give an answer that pleases the sponser, and may not be in the best interest of the patient asking the question. Yes, WebMD is a giant electronic billboard for the sales and promotion of whatever the sponser is selling. Guest guest
I agree phine. Sadly, I am seeing a trend where the public is losing trust in their physicians over the statin issue. Think about this. If physicians earned there living from tips like food servers and bartenders, how well would doctors do? Not very good at all.
