Guest guest
Autumn, I would strongly suggest that you go to the files on the website and read about statins there, also, Dr Duane Gravelines website is a must to read. These drugs can do an awful lot of damage and it pays to educate yourself before you go down that road. Read up in the message archives, plenty of people write of their experience with these drugs. There is also another group with plenty of information at: stopped our statins. Guest guest
My triglicorides are in the 300's. She gave me 6 months to exercise and change my diet, which I did, but it didn't make a difference in my #'s. Guest guest
Autumn these are not bad cholesterol numbers and certainly don’t need statins. As Bobby suggests make sure your thyroid is functioning normally, test for Free T3 and T4, plus TSH. Stay away from sugar and alcohol to help reduce triglycerides. Going to a paleo style diet should also help. These are just suggestions that I have gleaned from other sites as well as this one, not to be confused with medical advice. Guest guest
Autumn,I had nodules on my thyroid too. Like you Mine were biopsied twice. ( 1 year apart) And like you I was told twice they were not cancer. I finally insisted on having my thyroid removed. Guess what they found after it was removed? It was cancer. In my case at least. A pathologist friend said "Fine needle biopsy is almost worthless." Another physician friend stated "You never know for certain what you have until you are holding it in your hand." Wise words. We can do all the imaging, biopsies, and get a dozen medical opinions, but we do not know 100% for sure until pathology is holding it in their hands. Most nodules are not cancer. Thats the good news. There are a lot of people walking around with non-cancerous thyroid nodules. But if you have nodules, rest assured they have the ability interfere with the secretion of thyroid hormone. Guest guest
Autumn, the standard thyroid tests do NOT always reveal the true status of your thyroid function. For years I was told I didn't have a thyroid problem, as the test results were always "normal." Then just a few months ago I tried a supplement known as marine phytoplankton, which is rich in iodine as well as other trace minerals and antioxidants. Bingo! Bottom line is, and my doctor agrees, that I had been suffering all along with an iodine deficiency which was affecting my thyroid. I urge you to go to vitacost.com or any other good vitamin & mineral supplement source and check out their marine phytoplankton brands, read the reviews and choose one to try. If you're like me, you'll be amazed at the difference in the way you feel within just a few days. I hope it works as well for you as it did for me! Keep us posted. From: AutumnJ <autumnj@...>Lipitor Sent: Fri, September 23, 2011 8:26:42 AMSubject: Re: hi new here Yes, all thyroid tests done and are all in the normal range.
