Guest guest
Well another roller coaster ride for my son is almost over - Thankfully! has been battling a severe URI since March 28th. Our local hospital ( Washington) is a standard small town hospital geared for adults, not pediatrics. They saw over the weekend when he was having difficulty breathing. They did nothing for him except a chest xray, not even a breathing treatment, and sent us home. Well by Sunday he hadn't improved so I called his specialists at CHOP (Children's of Philadelphia) and they told us to go to the closest Children's Hospital for evaluation. was having a rough time with his breathing, lethargic, dehydrated and hadn't eaten in several days. We had been giving him round the clock treatments that still were not working, so we drove to Fairfax - about 45 minutes away, and they immediately admitted him. His O2 saturation levels are normally around 96-98, had dropped to the 80's, so we spent several rough days and nights at " club med " (med for medicine) Ha ha ha, anyway...the attending did not want us to go home, but my dh and I felt he was doing remarkably better, and will have his O2 checked this evening at the PED, just to be sure, so we are home now....I am at work today, completely exhausted...If I close my eyes I might fall asleep! Just glad to have my baby home! I will keep you all posted, hopefully, no more trips to the hospital! Thanks for listening....
