i did not see the " Boston Legal " show with the AS attorney, but i did

see an episode of " Law and Order:Trial by Jury " with an Aspie

defendant. He was not diagnosed until the middle of the episode, when

his lawyer realized what was wrong with the fellow and wanted to use

it as an insanity defense(did not work!).(i think this was a

carryover from another " Law and Order " program which dealt with his

arrest.).The man had very typical AS mannerisms for the most part.He

was functional but eccentric, lived with his rich Mom who sort of

covered for him.He had funny food habits(separating the veggies away

from the meat),was a bit stiff and formal, and had poor but not

really awful eye contact(sort of like me).His atypical behavior

(which was pointed out as atypical by a Doctor on the show)was

sexual assault,possibly murder(sounded like accidental killing,like

Lenny from " Of Mice and Men " ).This guy used to have bathing issues

and had to be washed by maids as a young teen, and one German

governess sexually abused him, telling him that he was not allowed to

touch himself or his penis would get cut off,and then she played

with him.He got the impression that foreign women and maids were all

supposed to do this, and carried this behavior into adulthood, not

really realizing it was rape, and comforting the women if they

cried. It was sort of sad.i was glad they had a Doctor character say

that usually Aspies are the victims of crime, not criminals, and that

the man's crime was shown as the product of his confusion and the

fact that his rich family, concerned about their image, did not get

him therapy when he was a teen. One of his early assaults resulted in

a daughter,a veterinarian,who seemed a bit Aspie to me.Kajira
