Narrowly read publications compared to who is on the statins, but it is a start. These days it seems like you can get things going on the web? They used to organize what was called "flashmobs" I think, where people would get together on short notice somewhere to protest something. Pretty good media coverage. How about a hunger strike? If you stay on the statins you are suffering a similar slow death... Hunger strikes get good media coverage.
