Guest guest
Hi again, I forgot to mention that on FRiday night I did not take the Lipitor but did on Saturday night. All Saturday night, I was having cramping on my calves. I never get this, could it be the Lipitor? I did not take it last night and no cramps. --- teresa stuart <lilliebelle3@...> wrote: > Hi, > I was put on 10 Mg's of Lipitor every night about 1 > 5 > weeks ago. Guest guest
Hi, I wanted to add that because of my severe hypoglycemia, I cannot do much exercise also. I have to eat every 2 1/2 hours or else. I don´t think my Endocrinologist knows what he is doing. So a total 204 is just fine right? Are all of you on low fat, high carb diets? That would kill me for sure. Thanks, --- jlkinkona <josephine@...> wrote: > , > My gut feeling is that the cramps are > lipitor-induced.If you go to > the forum at Spacedoc.com you will read about the > hundreds of folks > who have suffered from taking statin drugs and have > not recovered. > Your cholesterol at 204 was fine. Guest guest
, I agree with phine 100%!!! Muscle pains are a symptom of statin side effects. I also agree that a total cholesterol of 130 is TOO LOW. Cholesterol is needed by the body, especially the brain, and a total of 204 is not bad at all. Also cholesterol increases with age and the body must have a good reason for that. Another excellent website, created by the owner of another statin group, has much worthwhile information: http://www.freewebs.com/stopped_our_statins/ Diet?? NO, my wife and I are NOT on low fat, high carb diets. That is exactly opposite of the diet that we are on. We eat grass fed beef, fish, shell fish, and fresh, mostly organic, vegetables, drink raw milk, and eat few sweets. We also avoid artificial sweeteners, and processed foods in the grocery stores like the plague. Here is another website that says exactly what we believe about diet: http://www.westonaprice.org/basicnutrition/dietguidelines.html Probably more information than you wanted, Gene At 01:48 PM 8/27/2007, you wrote: Hi, I wanted to add that because of my severe hypoglycemia, I cannot do much exercise also. Guest guest
I will almost guarantee you the cramps are due to lipitor. I had HORRIBLE leg cramps until I got off it and almost quit running forever. I am now running like the wind. Get off this poison, eat right, exercise and forget about cholesterol. Their darn ads even state that these drugs have NOT been shown to prevent heart disease or heart attacks. There was a very minor benefit of lowering cholesterol among people with proven heart diseases. Meanwhile your coenzyme Q10 is goiing down and THAT will harm you greatly. Guest guest
Hi Kip, I am now off Lipitor since last Sat. night. If my Cholesterol went from 204 to 130 after 8 pills, I don´t know how low it went after taking the 30 pills I took. I have to eat the way I do because of my hypoglycemia, if I ate a diet low fat/high carb, I would pass out and probably die one day. My diet is just about like the South Beach Diet Phase I. Meaning: eggs, meat, chicken, turkey, cheese, bacon, avocados, veggies(non starch only), nuts, olive oil, butter. I do not eat any grain, rice, sugar, milk, yogurt, artificial sweeteners. I eat on occasion low glycemic fruits such as melon and strawberries(twice a week). I don´t know if this diet sounds good to all on this list, but I have no other choice but to eat this way. Actually, I eat nothing that cannot be killed, picked or milked, fished. I eat nothing in a box, I eat real food. --- Kip Cleaver <kipcleaver@...> wrote: > I will almost guarantee you the cramps are due to > lipitor. Guest guest
Gene, Your diet looks just like mine except for the milk. I think it is the best diet. I don´t know why Doctor´s try to put everyone on high carb/low fat diets. I think that is what is killing everyone, all that processed food and trans fats, white flour and sugar and artificial sweeteners. I say if you cannot pick it, milk it or kill it, do not eat it. I also stay away from caffeine, it stimulates the insulin and adrenal glands. I do miss my coffee though. --- Gene Wolfe <genew@...> wrote: > , I agree with phine 100%!!!
