Guest guest
In my quest to understand my memory and focus problems, I've taken a NeuroPsych test after my 2nd doctor's recommendation (the 1st one ignored me and prescribed Prozac for depression). I mentioned to the Neuro Psych testing person that statins (Crestor) have side effects like cognitive impairment and muscle problems when he asked me what I think was going on in my body. Are we the only ones who know about cognitive impairments that can be a side effect of taking statins? The tester had not heard about statin side effects (even Crestor shows memory loss as a side effect for some people) nor had he heard about CoQ10 depletion. The test results showed nothing organic in my condition, so I think his conclusion boils down to stress related. He must have read about statins afterward, because he had stated that statins may actually help cognitive effects in the elderly. I joined the website a few months back and have learned much about my continuing memory problems (off Crestor for 1 1/4 years)and similarities to others. I had these symptoms long before I pursued taking charge of my health due to the ignorance of the medical profession. I did not get the symptoms by reading this vital information. I read a brief article in the WSJ which made me get off Crestor, but I did not followup until recently. I'm hoping CoQ10 and Fish Oil are helping me. I'm sure the memory/focus loss caused stress, rather than the opposite. Where to next? The recommendation was behavior modification.
