I may have the wrong kid. LOL! Yep, you have the right kid!! So far the ped now thinks they are infectious reactions to some type of bug bite, possibly mosquitos. They cleared up once he was on an antibiotic (for 8 weeks!!) and even now he has marks where they used to be, like bruises. Very strange. Guest guest
Diane - Did they turn purple? I only ask because in college I was diagnosed with something called Wells Syndrome - I've never had another attack, and no one has ever heard of it. This is what would happen.... I would get a bug bite (in my case, mosquito) and the thing would get white and hard in the middle, and RED RED RED and grow, and get really large. After they turned sort of purple and then left marks for months after. A dermatologist was finally who diagnosed me - by doing a punch biopsy. Oh, I should mention, I got really bad muscle and joint pain from it. Anyway - I was just wondering if perhaps this was what he was experiencing. Guest guest
from Dale, Mom to Katy, CVID, age 20 Just a quick update on Katy then I've GOT to get some sleep. and I ran down to see her this weekend. Just got back and checked the board for any emergencies. I'm sorry, Care, that things are looking worse. I'll be praying. Katy changed from Gammimune IVIG to Gamunex (Bayer's new product) last July. We were VERY disappointed in how she tolerated it. She was having severe headaches and much more aches and pains than she ever did with Gammimune and we were wondering whether we would need to change products. SO. I haven't seen her since the end of August and she reports that she is not having ANY side effects with Gamunex -- not even the 2 days of flu-like stuff she's had for years with Gammimune. AND (she ought to do another Bayer commercial) she feels better and less sick than she's felt since before she was diagnosed. I've got to write Bayer a BIG thank you. It took her 2 months to adjust to the new product and then presto -- she's feeling strong -- tolerating school well, partying waaaaaaay too much, and feeling like a healthy human being. I'm so excited for her. Just wanted to report in. In His service, Dale

I'm feeling very rusty and if anyone can give me reminders of how to tell the difference between the two I'd appreciate it. Dale, This happened with my daughter (now age 24). It's important to get a stool study done and not guess. She waited and waited (was in college at the time!!) and it caused her Irritable Bowel Syndrome. The parasites caused too much damage.
