Guest guest
Kathleen, I don't have the info for schools, but you can all your school and ask about a 504 plan and who the 504 coordinator is. All school districts are to have one, and not all do. A 504 plan is for people with disabilities and it is federal law to make accommodations.. I think it was an 's mom who has one for her. I don't remember who that is on this group, but this is something that I am working on for . is on IDEA part C right now and I'm working on transitional planning now as we move into section B of IDEA. probably won't qualify for anything as he doesn't have delays..But that is what the 504's are for. Anyway, that's a little bit of info. Hope it helps. , age 2 cyclic neutropenia, igg def, subclass 3 def, severe secretory igA deficiency..blah, blah blah information for schools does anyone have any information regarding PID for elemenatary schools.. for teachers and principals re: what it is etc.. and does anyone with school age childre, how do you manage outbreaks in your healthy childs classroom,( and bringing home flu, gastritis) . last year we just pulled my older daughter out of school if there was an epidemic.. which there was of the stomach flu// what documentation do I need...kathleen mom to conan This forum is open to parents and caregivers of children diagnosed with a Primary Immune Deficiency. Guest guest
WOW what a good question! If anyone gets this type of information please pass it on to me too, if you don't post it up here. I will make copies and give it to the Directors at my child's preschool, what a help this would be to us all. > > does anyone have any information regarding PID for elemenatary > schools.. for teachers and principals re: what it is etc.. and does > anyone with school age childre, how do you manage outbreaks in your > healthy childs classroom,( and bringing home flu, gastritis) . last > year we just pulled my older daughter out of school if there was an > epidemic.. which there was of the stomach flu// what documentation > do I need...kathleen mom to conan
Guest guest
Hi Kathleen, I give the school a copy of the IDF patient handbook with 's illness highlighted as well as the treatment pages etc. I also have one for each new teacher to read along with the " A Day in the Life " video, this year I also had the Bayer video as well. I always have a meeting with the Principal, new teacher before the school year ends to just talk and let her/him know what to expect( ie; more than normal absences, keeping the classroom clean, letting me know if someone in the class is sick etc). I also have a good relationship with the school nurse and she keeps in touch with me on things I need to know. I also meet with the teacher just before school starts to see if she has any questions for me. We also have under a 504 plan for accommodations and we all meet about that each year as well. We did pull out of school for the flu outbreak we had last year, here it was bad!, they sent tutors to the house to keep her up. The school nurse, principal and I talked about flu season ahead of time and we all decided to pull her if it got into the school. The nurse kept watch of the sick calls and even called parents when kids were just labeled sick to see what they had. They called me to come get and take her home when it hit our school. You can get a note from your ped to pull your child for any serious contagious disease. Hope that helps. mom to - CVID, asthma, GERD information for schools does anyone have any information regarding PID for elemenatary schools.. for teachers and principals re: what it is etc.. and does anyone with school age childre, how do you manage outbreaks in your healthy childs classroom,( and bringing home flu, gastritis) . last year we just pulled my older daughter out of school if there was an epidemic.. which there was of the stomach flu// what documentation do I need...kathleen mom to conan This forum is open to parents and caregivers of children diagnosed with a Primary Immune Deficiency.
