Guest guest
Update on results/ Just talked with Dr. K from Univ of Mn. Some of the results are back, but not all. His t cell function tests are normal. Good news. Still awaiting the NK function tests which probable won't be back until Christmas. His IGA is down to 16 now, from 23. Wants to repeat the immunoglobins in January so we are > 3 months from his IVIG and see what that plays out. He is leaning towards IGA deficiency, even though he isn't quite low enough to truly say this. Also with my hubby being insulin dep diabetic and that is an autoimmune disease, it coorelates with the iga deficiency. His plan is to wait for the rest of the labs from cincinatti and the cyclic neutropenia genetic testing from GeneDX. Once that is done, recheck the immunoglobins, and then possibly proceed with IVIG treatment every 3-4 weeks.....I don't know if that is the right response or not. has seemed better, but we have had a conjunctivitis and croup in the last month, so I guess he is still having some minor infections even on the prophylactic antibiotics. The mouth sores still happen, but don't seem to be as bad right now....his activity has been better the last week....is that because he is off the acyclovir, or because we started pediasure and he asks for that 3 times a day and is actually getting some better nutrition???? Anyway, I need a nap, worked last night and haven't slept yet. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New year. The best present for me, would have been some clear cut answers for , but i think we are on the right road, with the right doctors who are working closely with my ped. THanks for the support.
