Hi Susie,

I use natural progesterone cream as well as a Calsium/Magnesium + Vit.D supplement. The Fosomax and the Boniva, only grow bone from the outside in, making the inner part of the bone weaker, whereas natural progesterone, according to Dr. Lee, rebuilds bone from the inside out causing less fractures. A friend of mine went and had a dental implant done in her mouth and knowing what she does, which is the same thing I do, in educating women about natural alternatives to HRT, he asked her what her perspective was on the subject and she told him and asked him why he was asking her. He said that he has had a lot of women come in who have taken fosomax and was getting an implant done and the donor bone would not adhere to their bone and he assumed that it was because they were on that drug.

Dr. Lee had told my friend several years ago that there would be a lot of fractures due to the osteoporosis drugs because they are not building bone from the inside out. They found out later that he was right, but yet they still prescribe this drug just like they do all these other drugs that are damaging out bodies.

We had a woman on our menopause message board whose mother had bad results from a bone density test, so we got her on natural progesterone, and she was tested again 8 months later and the results came back that her bone had increased 8-10% in those 8 months that she used the cream.

So I would encourage any woman who is near the menopausal stage to use natural progesterone for this as well as to balance her hormones naturally and properly. Men can also use the cream to help protect them against osteoporosis as well as for prostate health.

I only know about alternatives to hormone replacement therapy, so I am really trying to dig in and learn what alternatives to use for heart conditions since I am facing it now myself at the age of 42. I'm also surgically menopausal and have been told that my bones are already showing osteoporatic changes. So my next step is to have a bones density test done to see where I'm at along that line.

Blessings,

Rhonda

That is very interesting Rhonda about the heart spasms. The reason I am interested in this is not high cholesterol, but osteoporosis. I am on fosamx, and have some problems with it, and the Dr. was going to put me on Boniva.

On the peoples Pharmacy column in our paper they mentioned that several women had problems with heart spasams while on Boniva and had heart attacks. I told this to my Dr. and off course they had not heard of this problem. I decided that I did not want to take the chance as the fosamax gives me small heart pains and I concluded that a once a month drug, might be worse.

Are you by any chance on any osteo drugs? Could there be any other drugs that make this condition worse?

Susie
