Guest guest
Thank-You ! My Cardiologist told me that I needed the Diltiazem because my heart kept having muscle spasms because of having 2 stents put in one artery so close together. They said that if my heart spasmed too hard, it could close off an artery and I would have a heart attack. I remember when I came home from the hospital my chest pains were worse than they were before I went to the hospital, but he said it was because my heart was trying to get used to the foreign objects and was having spasms. I still have chest pain occassionally, but they are not bad ones and only last just a few seconds. But I would still love to get off the Diltiazem if I can find an alternative. But of course I'm not going to rush it just yet since this heart problem is all still fresh with me. I do not have high BP, in fact, it's quite the opposite from what it used to be. I average around 102/65 and the systolic number sometimes goes below 100. My heart rate is what is always so high and runs in the upper 90's. Where does one get the Policosinol? Thanks for your reply! It is much appreciated. Blessings, Rhonda ----- Original Message ----- From: wolflady Hi Rhonda,About the Diltiazem, its a caliciam channel blocker for HBP/angina,I wouldn't go off it,(without talking to Dr. first) maybe try adding niacin , and also Dr. Wayne, in his book "Do you really need Bypass Surgery" suggests that alot of angina is actually caused by high blood pressure affecting the heart, there is a herbal called "Mukta Vati" that has shown success with lowering BP,If you decide to take it with your other medication, monitor your BP carefully as it can lower your BP to the point where you might possibly be able to discontinue your HBP med., as far as the Crestor, keep the CoQ10 going, and for chlesterol try policosinol, 10mg-20mg at night, Good luck,(muka vati, can be found at herbscancure.com)>> What about Diltiazem. Guest guest
That is very interesting Rhonda about the heart spasms. The reason I am interested in this is not high cholesterol, but osteoporosis. I am on fosamx, and have some problems with it, and the Dr. was going to put me on Boniva. On the peoples Pharmacy column in our paper they mentioned that several women had problems with heart spasams while on Boniva and had heart attacks. I told this to my Dr. and off course they had not heard of this problem. I decided that I did not want to take the chance as the fosamax gives me small heart pains and I concluded that a once a month drug, might be worse. Are you by any chance on any osteo drugs? Could there be any other drugs that make this condition worse?
