Guest guest Posted October 15, 2005 Report Share Posted October 15, 2005 I remember hearing an article on the radio about a village in the uk that had used a barter system during a recession in the late 80's in order for it to survive due to very hi unemployment >Sometimes I fantasize about living in a place where everything I had was made by me or gotten in barter for one of my homemade items or my labor. There was a TV comedy in the uk called "The good live" in the 70's that was about this way of life. i live a " do it your self / make it your self " life stile. J the barter system I am really drawn to the idea of the barter system. Something seems very artificial about working in an office to earn money which I exchange for a place to live and other needs and wants. Sometimes I fantasize about living in a place where everything I had was made by me or gotten in barter for one of my homemade items or my my labor.
