Guest guest
Humans are built to injest and digest fruit and vegetables primarily, but it is a mistake to beleive that meat is also not a part of our natural diet. I applaud those who don't eat meat, and I actually encourage folks who don't eat meat to stay vegetarians. Killing animals in order to eat them is a hard thing to do, and obviously not healthy for the animals. But if people ARE going to be vegetarians, then they ought to find out what viamins, minerals, and nutrition they are NOT getting by abstaining from meat and making sure that they get tose nurtrients elsewhere, either by supplements or by other vegetables. By the way, other species that were thought to be vegetarians have also been seen eating meat. Chimpanzees will hunt lesser primate species for food sometimes, for example, and hippos have been filmed dining on carcasses left behind by allegators. Tom I've heard that a raw food diet is good only temporarily--as a medicine of sorts, but it shouldn't be sustained long term. Maybe some people can do it or it's good for some people, I don't know. I've also heard that burned or charred food has carcinogens in it but for some reason, I just can't believe that it's so bad for you, as long as you don't eat a lot of burnt stuff. I might be totally wrong about that and please correct me if I am.
Guest guest
I eat frozen dinner and it only takes 10 minutes to heat a pizza, 15 for fish sticks and 45 for lasagne in a regular oven. All you have to do for the lasagne is to plan ahead and put it in 45 minutes before you want to eat it. This house has a built-in microwave too, but I've never used it and not planning to. I agree that it tastes better when not microwaved. Inger Re: Tracking you by cell phone I don't miss having a microwave at all. It doesn't really save that much time unless you're cooking a frozen dinner, which I don't eat. And you're right what's 20 minutes compared to your health? And food tastes better cooked on the stove or oven.
Guest guest
Rainbow, Sounds like your microwave is cooked. Throw it out and be thankful it's no longer a part of your life. If you wish to honor it, carve a box for it and put it in there before you bury it. Tom I agree! But..... I'm having a problem with my microwave..... It shuts off after about two seconds every time I try to use it. I've unplugged it and re-plugged it in to no improvement, after the manufacturer's suggestion. Anybody got any other ideas as to how I might restore its functionality? Rainbow
Guest guest
I keep everything until it absolutely completely falls apart. I hate to replace things money-wise, time-wise and conservation-wise. My husband is a great jerry-rigger and I am good at making something out of nothing! > > >: " I hate throwing things out so I try to fix them first, > but that's not always possible.
