I read your post here and uit does seem like your GI doc is doing the right thing in my opinion. the stage of your damage, and the viral load at this point do make you a prime patient for TX at this time. As too the side effects. they can be rough, but every Pt. is different,. Some do fine with Tx with little sides, some have adverse effects as well. It depends on a number of things. Tx is the best option to try, and many do have a remission of the virus. the earlier you start in my opinion, the better chance you have to find remission of the illness. If you have any more questions at all about this, please just ask. I wish you all the best. Jon. > before proceeding. Also wondering if I should seek a 2nd opinion. Guest guest
Hi Jon, Thanks for sharing your opinion. The hepatologist I found is a couple hours away from home & 4 hrs from work. My hope is to go to him for consultation & confirmation that I should begin treatment. Then return to my original GI for treatment. I read that the Hep Docs practice participates in many trials/studies and has at least 6 MD's on staff that only do research so hopefully I can get the most up to date info there. Take care, > > Hi everyone! > > I've been away the past 2 weeks with a week long training for my > new > > position @ work then a trip out of town for hubby's 20th reunion. > I > > need a vacation to recover from the past 6 days!
