I think you can find your IVIG comparison chart on _www.immunedisease.com_ (http://www.immunedisease.com) I've seen one there, under products, I think. As for switching brands, I think to stop that practice your doctor has to specify a brand name and write " dispense as written " on it or some such thing. My doctor always writes the prescription for gammagard. We've never gotten a different brand or had trouble with the insurance company over it. You are right though a different brand can cause different problems with reactions and everything. I thought I saved it, but I cannot find it. I've spent a bit of time surfing the internet for it and I just can't find it. So I'm cheating and asking for HELP!!! If someone knows where this is, could you please point me to it? For us had several reactions with one brand we were switch to another and he has done very well. Our Dr put it in writing that was to only get the one brand due to reactions. So for the last 5 years on this brand we have had no problem with getting it. We have not had a problem with the insurance because our Dr wrote it as a medical necessity. Guest guest Posted August 5, 2004 Report Share Posted August 5, 2004 Hi, The IDF has a comparison chart in one of their handouts( not sure which one), I think the Clinical Focus one, just ask them they will know which one. As for switching products month to month, your Dr. needs to DAW the script, dispense as written, and they have to use that one, I would be nervous like you for potential side effects with the switching around. had her 4th IVIG yesterday, dumb me forgot to give her Tylenol or Motrin before hand, she had headaches and joint pain this time, they had to keep slowing down the rate, finally they ran it at 20 cc/hr and she tolerated that, long day. Today she is still a little tired and has a headache, but is looking good. We also saw her pulmonologist yesterday, he is very happy with how she is doing( unhappy about the CVID, but we all have to deal with it) only sick once this summer, not happy with the fatigue or fevers she gets the 4th week, so he is suggesting go to every 3 weeks or increase the dose. We see the ped on Sept 1st, same day as her next IVIG to talk before school starts. we also talked about if she starts getting sick like last year( hopefully not) 20 or so absenses by Jan/ Feb we will pull her out of school and home school her.
