Lipitor and CoQ10

Hello,

I joined this list a few months ago but have never posted before. I

have been very interested in reading about the experiences others have

had in the attempt to stay healthy while dealing with high

cholesterol levels and other health concerns. I have been working on a

solution for my cholesterol levels that I can live with and am looking

for information which will help me achieve that goal. At the beginning

of 2006 after my yearly checkup my dr. recommended the usage of a

statin. My cholesterol was 208, HDL was 58, LDL was 127, and

triglycerides were 114. I am a 53 year old female with a history of

one heart attack at age 42 and no problems since. I started taking

lovastatin and developed fatique with muscle pain so I stopped taking

the drug. My dr. then prescribed Lipitor. I have not been bothered by

fatique but have been dealing with heel and joint pain. I have

experimented with the drug by not taking it for two months to see if

my pain would disappear. The heel pain improved and the joint pain

faded completely. I recently resumed the usage of Lipitor and the pain

has returned so I believe the pain and the statin are related. I read

about the usage of CoQ10 and statin drugs together here so I asked my

dr. and she said it was fine for me to try the CoQ10. What I would

like to know is how much time should I give the CoQ10 with the statin

drug before I can decide if it is a feasible solution for me. I would

appreciate any opinions, insights or whatever anyone would like to

share. Thanks.

Carolle
