Make A Wish

Make A wish is for an child ages 3-18 that has any form of Life-

Threatening OR Terminal Illnesses/Diseases. Immune Dificiencies &

Blood disorders are on the list. Especially if your Dr. submits

his/her name!!!!

Blake was able to Go to Disney World through Make A Wish. But only

after his health stablized & the Drs. all approved. He went(with all

of his family living in the home or he could have asked a friend that

he/she choose to accomany him/her). we were originally scheduled to

go in May. But 3 of Blake's Drs. said NO. So we waited & were really

glad we did. Sept/Oct. is really the best time to go there. We had a

very much needed vacation & we were able to " forget " the dull-drum

life for home & not have to worry about the clinic or anything that

pertained to it.

What we were told that Blake did have several issues that qualifies

him, but the main issue was the CVID with Complete T-Cell Dysfunction

& his RARE Blood disorder, plus the amount of time he had spent in

the hospital over the past 10yr.(at that time he was 10). At one

point in 2001, to be exact, Blake spent 4 months in the hospital.

Then he was back in for 6 weeks just 6 weeks after discharge & then 4

weeks later he was back in for another 8 weeks!!! All because of his

immune issues & a mastiod infection that spread to the bone behind

the ear nearest to the brain.

Today we are very glad to say that since he does IVIG Bi-Weekly(has

been for the past 2-1/2 yrs) he has spent very little time in a

hospital room. We are praying everyday for it to stay that way!!!!
