Guest guest
from dale, Mom to Katy, CVID,age 19 and having a blast having her home this week. She's grown up so much and is such a joy to be with. We've been making Christmas candy all week and are exhausted -- but it is finally all FINISHED!!!!! , can you wait outside and have them call you and avoid the waiting room? Definitely talk with the doctor about it and see whether he thinks it is worth the risk -- we found that if we took Katy in to the clinic -- she would have to go back every two weeks permanently (it seemed) because she kept catching something new every time we went in. We avoid the doctor's offices like the plague! I found that talking with the doctor was much more valuable than trying to explain it to the receptionist. Hope she's feeling better and you can avoid the pneumonias. In His service, Dale Tweed wrote:
Guest guest
, I dont know if i can offer much hope but i do know that ur doctor can meet you outside the office in ur car if need be, cause they did it for me and caden. I thought caden had the chicken pox and they didnt want other kids to get it so they had me call when i got to the doctors office park out front and call then they came out to my car to see him and diagnose him, it was kinda kewl, lol. But dont let them tell you they cant cause i know for a fact alot of docs do it. i hope i helped a little. brandee, mom to caden possible cvid, but for sure transient(dont know what that means), mikaele asthma, and on the road to growing out of it(in Jesus Name) Tweed <ercokat@...> wrote: My 3 yr old daughter had possible pneumonia and an ear infection several weeks ago. She was on antibiotic, and when I brought her back to have her lungs checked about 5 days into the antibiotic the doctor said she now had an infection in the other ear as well, and he wasn't sure she had pneumonia (the Nurse Practitioner had seen her previously), but it was probably an asthma flare-up. He switched her antibiotic and upped all of her asthma medications. He then told me to bring her back in to have her lungs rechecked " if I felt concerned " and she wasn't " much better " . Well, she seemed fine when I took her back the first time, and I didn't even know she was sick at all! I keep thinking I should bring her back to get her lungs and ears checked again, but I'm so afraid that she'll pick up the flu from someone (she has a flu shot, but apparently it's not the same strain that is in the shot and it may offer no protection). What does everyone else do when they think just going into the doctor's office this time of year will harm their child rather than help them? I wish I knew how to listen to wheezing myself so I wouldn't have to put at risk everytime we go in the office. She's had an unending cold and infections since October, and I don't want to bring her into a room full of sick kids. I feel like I'm being neglectful not getting her lungs and ears rechecked, but I don't want to take a chance in that germy doctor's office! , Mom to , 3, IgA Deficient, Asthma, chronic ear/sinus infections and Connor, 5 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
