Prozac was phenomenal when we first tried it. So far the zoloft is working wonderfully. You should see some great changes with the prozac. They are very similar although not identical. My son just had his dose increased to 50mg. I am noticing he is a little more tired at night which I guess is kind of good. Did you notice any excessive sleepiness when you started zoloft for your son? *** NO, he tried Zoloft a few years ago and it was not working. He also started a new medication at the same time, which was not a good idea, docs should try one medication at a time when they are new. I am not sure of what the problem was, but we took him off Zoloft as in the week he STARTED it, he suddenly got detentions and all kinds of bad things happened to him. They ended when he went off of it. He takes Remeron now at Bedtime. I take a form of medication - generic for Prozac and it helped me a lot, and I want to try my son on this too maybe, though I hate the thought of him on it, but if it works, I am willing to try. He takes Concerta during the day and it works well to keep him on task. in IL
