Guest guest Posted December 20, 2005 Report Share Posted December 20, 2005 Training Program Based on the TEACCH Model (Treatment and Education of Autism and Related Communication Handicapped Children) Program Coordinator: Ginette Bernier, BA, is a Program and Planning Agent in PDD for Miriam Home. She also serves as a consultant to schools, communities and readaptation centers in Quebec and Ontario. Ms. Bernier is also Clinical Coordinator to the Trampoline Centre and co-ordinates training programs based on the TEACCH approach This program provides basic training on Structured and Individualized Intervention in its application to autism, pervasive developmental disorders (PDD) and other types of disabilities following the prescriptions of the TEACCH model and of Schopler of the University of North-Carolina. During the five-day program, participants will become familiarized with the characteristics of autism and PDD's as well as with aspects relative to the implementation of this approach. During the training week, five individuals with autism will be participating in the activities organized by the animators. English Session: This session will be held over five days.
