obstacles in life, not BFL

I really don't like the holidays and this year seems to be no exception. It seems like everyone I love dies this time of year and last night my Grandma died. So now I've got some unexpected stressors. The nursing home where she was uses powdered latex gloves ( could never go see her) and now I find out that the funeral home also uses the damn things. Great, just what my family needs........I don't want to die too!!!! I'm going to be doped up on antihistamines and probably steroids just to go see her and my family. This is definantly going to be one of those obstacles that I have to cross.

Tim let me have a great cry last night. Latex allergy sucks!!! If it weren't for the allergy, we'd be out doing things and I'd be able to see people. How many of those damn balloons were at parties last night?

I could wallow in self pity or go on....I choose to go on. I know my Grandma would want me to. She lived a great life and she taught me so many things. She's not suffering in pain (cancer) anymore and is together forever with Grandpa. She raised 4 kids on her own (Grandpa died when my Dad was just a teenager). She was always there for us grandkids and everyone else's kids. She gave selflessly of herself even when she shouldn't have. She NEVER had a bad word to say about anyone, even when my parents got divorced ( after 32 years!). She roomed with my Mom's Mom at the nursing home. Can you imagine????? She was a very special lady and will be greatly missed.

If there is one thing I've learned, life is short. Make the most of it. I never let my kids go to bed or school without hugs and kisses and "I love you's". I got the chance to tell her I loved her, but not being able to be there at her bedside to say goodbye really stinks.

Everyone take care.

Glenda

PS: Sorry, next post is positive and BFL related.
