Guest guest
My Son is 5 and he is in Pre k and Doing Great.. He has Aspergers and is A really Super smart Lil man. He has had some SID awhile back. Through OT and Hard work it comes and goes. This time hes doing something that I find Awkward... He rubs things and Sniffs his hand... and when I mean things I mean ALOT OF THINGS (For ex. Our dogs.. his leg.. Other ppl.. Doors..walls.. Cabinets... His private area and butt) Ive asked him why he does this and his reply is " My brain told me to do it " I have tried to address this issue in many ways.. Like Not paying attention, to where he may drop it as fast as he learned it. Telling him that it is not appropriate to doand that he could pick up Germs and get sick. Redirecting him and His attention. Getting Frustrated and Also telling him that it makes me mad. Even Praise and Reward. None of that works. I also have Made Seperate bags of different smells w/ Scents and Cotton balls and the name on each.. (DID NOT WORK) Got scratch n stiff stickers so it doesnt look too inappropriate in public. Even Scratch and Stiff books. NONE Seems to work HAS ANYONE Went thru this and have Any advice?? Im Willing to Listen and try anything!!! ty all and have a blessed day!
